Our district managers and store managers come from diverse backgrounds, but they all possess a strong sense of integrity and outstanding skills.
District Manager:
Handee Marts district managers are multi-unit managers responsible for the implementation of strategic corporate direction through the overall development of franchisees and store managers. Working in a seven-day week, 24-hour-a-day environment, they help store managers and franchisees create and meet store-level budgets and plans. The district manager’s position includes promoting the 7-Eleven image, providing good customer service and ensuring the company’s objectives through specific operational and merchandising goals.
The district manager also is responsible for analyzing financial data to ensure accurate reporting and acting as a liaison between the store and the company’s headquarters.
Store Manager
The store manager ensures that the strategic direction of the company is implemented effectively at the store level. Working closely with his or her district manager, the store manager develops an annual budget, identifies operating and merchandising goals, implements programs, selects and trains store personnel, maintains the store image, manages expenses and provides excellent customer service.
Franchising Opportunities with Handee Marts, Inc.
Handee Marts, Inc. franchises 7-Eleven stores in the states where Handee Marts operates. Stores are franchised as a sole proprietorship, although the company has a policy for transferring the franchise agreement to a corporation that the franchisee owns after he or she takes possession of the store.
Handee Mart provides the land, building and equipment for the store and leases the franchisee a fully stocked and ready-to-operate 7-Eleven store. Franchisees receive continuing advice, training and assistance on store operations, bookkeeping, auditing, financing, merchandising, advertising and other services as described in the company’s offering circular, and they have a license to use the service mark "7-Eleven".
The franchisee must pay an initial franchisee fee ranging from $10,000 to $40,000 when signing the franchise agreement. The franchisee also pays a royalty to Handee Marts, Inc., which is a percentage of the gross profit that the store generates. This is unique in franchise relationships since many franchisors require the payment of a royalty based on a percentage of sales.
In addition, Handee Marts, Inc. retains a more significant financial and marketing advisory role in the franchise business than most other in the franchise business. Interested applicants should discuss this role in detail with the Handee Marts representatives and their own business advisors before franchising a store.
