Masaaki Asakura
Executive Vice President/International and Advisor to the CEO

Masaaki Asakura, Executive Vice President of International and Advisor to the CEO for 7-Eleven, Inc., is responsible for international licensing and global expansion. Asakura also serves on the company's Board of Directors.

He joined Seven-Eleven Japan in 1976 and has served in a variety of operations positions, including Field Counselor and District Manager. For several years, he worked in the company's Merchandising Department where he was responsible for numerous products, including Slurpee® semi-frozen carbonated beverage. In 1987, he was named General Manager responsible for drinks, dairy, frozen grocery, ice cream and fast foods.

Two years later, Asakura was assigned to Seven-Eleven Hawaii as General Manager and Executive Vice President. He also served as General Manager of Seven-Eleven Japan's Planning Department and was responsible for overseas affiliates.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Asakura earned a bachelor of science degree from Rikkyo University in Tokyo.
